Professional Background

Executive Member | Bangladesh Nature Foundation (BNF)

Yaad Bin Abuhena is an emerging academic trainee with interests in economics, financial accounting, business administration, and communication. He completed his Ordinary Level (O-Level) education at the International Modern Arabic School (IMAS) in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and is currently preparing for his Advanced Level (A-Level) qualifications as a private candidate. His academic interests and practical exposure to family-based agricultural operations provide an initial foundation for understanding resource management, rural livelihoods, and the economic dimensions of sustainable development. As an Executive Member of the Bangladesh Nature Foundation (BNF), he brings a youth perspective, an international educational background, and an interest in economic systems to the Foundation’s work in environmental conservation, community development, and sustainable livelihoods.

Academic Qualifications

Yaad completed his O-Level education at the International Modern Arabic School (IMAS) in Putrajaya, Malaysia. He is currently preparing for his A-Level qualifications as a private candidate, with a focus on Economics, Accounting, and English Language. His studies cover economic principles, financial records, resource allocation, analytical reasoning, and written communication. He plans to pursue undergraduate studies in Economics or Business Administration, further developing his understanding of financial systems, organizational management, and economic development.

Practical and Agricultural Experience

Through his involvement in his family’s agricultural operations, Yaad has gained practical exposure to farm activities, land use, resource allocation, labour coordination, and agricultural production cycles. This experience has introduced him to the operational and economic considerations involved in managing small-scale agricultural activities. It also provides a foundation for understanding the relationship between rural livelihoods, productive land use, and the responsible management of natural resources.

Economic and Analytical Interests

His academic interests in economics and accounting provide a foundation for understanding household resource management, production costs, financial accountability, and the allocation of limited resources. These areas of interest are relevant to community development initiatives in which livelihood opportunities, efficient resource use, and economic resilience are important considerations. As his academic training progresses, these interests may support his contribution to the planning, documentation, and assessment of community-oriented environmental and livelihood programmes.

Communication and Intercultural Competencies

Having studied in Malaysia, Yaad has experience in an international educational environment and exposure to diverse cultural settings. His English-language studies support the development of written communication, information synthesis, and collaborative skills. His independent approach to A-Level preparation also requires personal discipline, time management, and responsibility for his academic progress. These developing competencies provide a useful foundation for participating in organizational activities, preparing informational materials, and communicating with individuals from different backgrounds.

Role at Bangladesh Nature Foundation

As an Executive Member of the Bangladesh Nature Foundation, Yaad Bin Abuhena contributes a youth perspective to the organization’s activities and institutional development. His role provides an opportunity to connect his developing knowledge of economics and accounting with BNF’s priorities in biodiversity conservation, community engagement, and sustainable livelihoods. His practical exposure to agricultural operations also offers a grassroots perspective on the economic realities of land-based livelihoods and the importance of considering community needs in environmental initiatives.

Professional Contribution to BNF

Yaad’s potential contribution to BNF lies in his developing analytical, communication, and organizational skills, together with his interest in economic systems and agricultural management. These capabilities can support appropriate organizational activities involving information management, programme documentation, basic resource planning, and youth engagement, subject to his experience and responsibilities. His participation also reflects the value of engaging younger members in conservation organizations and encouraging their understanding of the connections between environmental stewardship, community well-being, and sustainable economic development.
